Obituary for Jewell Alizabeth Wormley

Jewell Alizabeth Wormley was born on February 14, 1999, in Baltimore, Maryland. From the moment she arrived into the world, Jewell was born into her family’s hearts and was finally connected to her forever family that included her parents, Bill and Robin and her brothers, Jonathan, Joshua, and Jordan, at the age of 3 months old. Just as the holiday she was born on invokes so much love and joy, so it was with our Jewell. She was and still remains full of love and joy for her family and friends and was the perfect addition to make the Wormley crew complete. After being the little sister and only girl for many years, Jewell proudly and faithfully took on another important role as “a big sister” to her younger siblings Iyonna, Sajiyah, Meloni, Nevaeh and Dave and Jewell took this role very seriously. She loved playing games and watching movies with her family and easily and readily loved and embraced her growing blended family. She loved all things Disney, was a SERIOUS Batman fan and lived by her mantra of “Ohana” which means “Family and family means that no one is ever left behind or forgotten.”

Jewell was always willing to do the most daring adventures and prided herself on being able to do things on her own, and on her own terms. She was once discovered pulling out drawers to make a staircase, which she would then use to climb up to the counter to make her own breakfast at the age of 2 years old. Her love of family and strong, independent spirit stayed with her throughout her life and helped her to achieve many amazing things in such a short time. While at Edgar Fahs Smith Middle School she won her first boxing match with Stick and Move Boxing. She was also a dedicated member of the TotalPra’Ze Mime Ministry. Jewell’s other hobbies included ushering, praise dancing, archery, playing guitar & trombone, exotic animals, boxing, woodworking, listening to eclectic music, bowling, and she was an avid Baltimore Ravens Fan. She was also one of the original YAYA Girls and was known as “YAYA Snapple Facts” because she always knew the facts and tidbits, and would correct you in a heartbeat.

In 2017, Jewell graduated from Central York School where she was a member of the Marching Band, The Beautiful People’s Club, and was very skilled at Woodworking, crafting several items for family members that she made in class. Jewell went on to attend Virginia Wesleyan University, but after completing a semester she felt ready to pursue her dream of being a pastry chef, Jewell enrolled in YTI Culinary Institute and was in the process of launching her own business “Jewell’s Sweets & Treats” A few weeks ago, she was asked to serve as the pastry chef for the YAYA 2019 Tea Party and was so excited to complete her first catering “gig.”

Jewell will eternally be celebrated and loved by her father William Wormley III (Cheryl), Her mother Robin Ransom (Shonda), Brothers: Jon (Stacie), Joshua (Tiana), Jordan (Shelby), Jon Moore & David. Sisters: Iyona, Sajiah, Nevaeh, and Meloni, Grandparents: Robert & Dorothy Ransom, William Wormley II, and her “Ouma”, Stephanie Seaton. She will also be eternally cherished by her special Auntie Nikki, Her Godmother Lelia Thompson, and her loving boyfriend Andrew Sapak, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, godsisters, co-workers, and friends.
