Obituary for Carrie I. Williams

Mrs. Carrie Isabel Williams age 98 of York, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2019 in Manor Care Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Clayrie L. Williams and the daughter of the late, James W. and Martha R. (Wilson) Hopkins.

She was born in York, Pennsylvania on November 26, 1920.

She had been a member of the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church since 1935 where she previously served as President of the Pastor’s Aide, the Stewardess Board for 30 years, the Usher Board 45 years serving as Chaplain, Secretary of the Senior Choir 30 years, Leader of Class #8 for 10 years and she was also a member of the Prayer Band. She’s done Volunteer work at White Rose Senior Center.

Employment included Coyne Industrial for 20 years in the Laundry Department; the Department of Public Welfare as a Custodian.

Survivors include: One daughter- Rev. Ruth Ann Boatwright, a Step Daughter- Carlotta A. Barnes
3 Grands, 7 Great Grands, 8 Great Great Grands
She was preceded in death by: 3 Sisters and 8 Brothers and a daughter Jeanette Leona Orr

Officiating and Eulogizing at the service will be Rev. Dr. Katherine Rose
